Sun Cru

SC16 - 2025

Instant calm and renewing bliss are the hallmarks of Little H Collective’s brilliant catalog. The new album, Frost, lives in the resonant pulse of this steadily expanding body of work. Pairing the warmth and wonder of the title track with the nocturnal beauty of “125 East,” Frost evokes mountain trails, encircling glades, and those interludes of quiet reflection that come to us like visitations along a wooded path. This music relates especially to the peace we feel in soothing natural environments, where the borders of perception are porous, and we're invited to step through apertures in the forest's edge. A perfect promoter of health in everyday life, Frost is a glistening sound bath with curative powers, and every listen brings immense joy and relaxation.

A source of inspiration for this work was the Robert Frost Trail in Vermont. There, the path leads through soft meadows and across a quiet stream. All things around you inspire and uplift. You feel serene and exhilarated. You look up from a bed of leaves, see the forest canopy swaying. In the fading light, ferns wave in the periphery. You become what you are: the still point of the turning world.

Back on the road, as you drive east on VT Route 125, everything changes. The forest is dark and feels very close. Moose pass among the trees and over the wet ground. A deepening darkness emerges on the other side of Middlebury Gap, and there are houses tucked into the land that look like they never see the sun. “125 East” gives expression to the realization of night along this strange yet familiar road. It is the mystical Every Road of our dreams.

As much a meditation for any season as it is a tribute to the mountains and woods that live within us, Frost may be Little H Collective's finest work yet: a restful, healing adventure of exaltation, joy, and tranquility.
